We are seeking a motivated Property Accountant Intern to join our finance team. This role offers hands-on experience in real estate accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and portfolio analysis.
The intern will support accounting operations across multiple properties and business entities, while gaining exposure to the full financial lifecycle of commercial real estate—from acquisition and construction through stabilization and asset management.
This is a part-time position, primarily on-site in Bentleyville, PA, with designated remote flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements
- Track and record property-level revenue, expenses, and transactions
- Support budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Manage and monitor accounts payable and receivable
- Assist with bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records in audit-ready form
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards
- Collaborate with asset management and leadership teams to support financial decision-making
Qualifications
- Experience or coursework in:
- Financial reporting
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Account reconciliation
- Strong bookkeeping experience and familiarity with accounting cycles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; accounting software exposure preferred
- Experience with MRI or AppFolio is a plus
- Interest or background in real estate accounting or property management is preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Clear and professional communication skills; comfortable working in team- environments
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
