RIDC is pleased to offer the opportunity to participate in an in-person internship as part of the construction and development team during the summer of 2026.

During the internship, in the construction and development team intern will focus on the following:

• Coordinating construction, land development and entitlements projects and activities
• Interfacing with consultants and contractors
• Project correspondence, meeting minutes, RFI’s, etc.
• Preparing project reports
• Computation of costs and preparing estimates
• Design drawing review
• Various site visits
• Providing direct assistance to the construction and development team
• Reviewing proposals
• Assisting with funding source packages, labor estimates, etc.

Educational & Skills qualifications:

• Pursuing a civil engineering, landscape architecture, architectural engineering, construction/business supply chain management degree, or similar
• Third year or great is desired
• Must be comfortable working in both office and construction environments
• Strong knowledge of land development and/or construction
• Must have transportation, many project sites are an hour or more from Pittsburgh

Prospective interns must be able to work at least 10 hours a week, with a maximum of 25 hours a week. Interns should be available to work in-person at the O’Hara office Mondays and Wednesdays for a full day. Interns may be expected to attend site visit or other onsite meetings at RIDC’s various parks. Interns will be paid depending on level of experience.
